Winning and Shopping- Oh My!

Last week I was selected as the lucky winner of this gorgeous necklace from DeniseAngela at  *dame*design*studio*.  Isn't it super?   I love the contrast of the frayed denim with the polished silver.  So my style.
She is having another Glamourous Giveaway for April.  Click here and check out her blog.  She creates beautiful clothes with panache.

I wore my necklace last night to a sewing club meeting.  We have show and tell and receive one draw ticket for every item you show.   I showed my two purses and the wordy bird pillow.  One of my tickets was drawn and I won this pattern.

It is a Lois Ericson pattern for twelve very different and creative pillows.  She gives instructions for many different embellishment techniques. I was inspired the minute I opened the envelope.   I can't wait to use it.

Over the weekend my youngest daughter and I attended the CreativFestival.  In a very short time we spent all our money and were excited to go home and play with our new purchases.

My daughter and I share a love of paper crafts although she is much, much better at it than me.  The horse stamps are of course hers.  The stamped attempt is mine.    I will keep trying.

This is for pj shorts for her.  This stuff was flying off the shelves.  Can't imagine why.

I have always wanted to make one of these little change purses.  I thought the kit was a good way to start.  This could be a good way to use of scraps.

Two Amy Butler prints that I could not resist.  The top one is plastic coated and will be used for a bag for me.  The lower print will be pj's for the other daughter.

Sometimes I can't find a sewing magazine to save my life.  But this weekend I found them everywhere.
Two from Germany, two from England, and two from the U.S.  My head is spinning with all these ideas.

For now, I have to finish our taxes, clean the sewing room, re-arrange and re-organize the craft room and  family room.  I need to clean the basement so I can call the electrician, so he can finish the renovated bathroom, so we can move on to the next renovation.

Thanks for dropping by.
Your comments are appreciated.

What fun you're going to have, Janlynn. Are you going to switch from making purses to pillows? The necklace you won is so pretty, lucky you! Have a great weekend! Hugs, Kim

I got the biggest kick out of that cowboy fabric. (If you can call it that!) Hadn't seen that one before. And I love the purse in the next post. You are one talented lady! May have to use that idea on a tote or bag myself! Thanks so much for sharing.

I'm so glad you like the necklace! Thanks for your comment on my daughters fray skirt....your idea will work! I have read about that technique but forgot about it until you mentioned it! It looks like you & your daughter had at great time...I love those type of sewing/craft shows too!
